Getting things together

Watching the Weekend fly by doing nothing much but lazing around... for a change.. trip to yelagiri was scheduled but just did not feel like going so ... given some unavoidable reasons... which made us opt for cleaning the whole house... I took up a book... by PauloCoelho... By the River Piedra I Sat down and Wept... Seems to be an interesting love story.. the definition of love is deeper than what authors usually try and put it... am halfway through... Today came to work a wee bit early and was going through the write ups that I have done online... since the past three years... I decided that I would compile all of what I wrote good and bad and organize it into different blogs... a huge task according to me which I am loath to do.. I rather believe in writing about stuff and forgetting it... a little doubtful to go back and be my own critic... :) Anyways so I have managed to create blogs for different categories... will date the posts as and when it was written... and I aim to have all my typings in one central place.... yep I will... Thoughts flying past.....
  • September is ending... its another new month... salary time.. buhahaha !!
  • October time.... Durga Puja time... will be missing home again SIGH
  • A guy trying to come and tell my husband some multiple times over... hey dude.. this girl was asking about you so many times... with me by his side.... you know this girl... you know she this.. she that... is this guy dumb enough to say this in front of me.... or is he just being plain DUH.. without any grey cells working... I shall take revenge... buhaahahah...wait till he gets married... am bloody going to open his black book in front of his simpering wife.... buhahahaah !!! YO baby ... you have incurred the wrath of EVIRL side of Pallavi
  • Dreams of green valleys ... beckoning me to just fly down with open arms embracing the wind and the smell of fresh earth....
  • Dined in Little Italy the other day... and well this place has a new definition for vegetables... to be frank I see more vegetables in my salad and cooking... than the "purely" vegeterian Italian Restaurant.... a rip off... nothing great unless you are an Italian having no choice but to have this food....
  • A bengali waiter... spouting Italian names in Bengali accent... "Medaaam take thhis Bhi Tuenty Sevhen ( B27)" with Phussiili... which I was hard pressed to ask what was phusssili ... it was Fusilli... a type of Pasta... I could not resist asking him to speak in his mother tongue which I was well versed with and I woudl understand it better... Poor chap.. ;)
  • Valet parking has made life somewhat easier these days...
  • Losing my temper does not help... unending realisation but I keep making the same mistake.... EGAD !!!
  • Today I am to write a script... please someone tell someone.. that technical documentation and scriptwriting are totally two different ball games... where am I gonna go and hide my head.... *me looking with shifty eyes*... dying to escape this situation...
  • Another death in the family... may her soul rest in peace... death seems to be a common name now.. life is difficult to handle ... how do you handle death... life and death.. two sides of the same coin... hard earned acceptance... yes and it is time to live in endless time forever......
  • Sai Baba ... having a case a la Michael Jackson... seen in BBC world.. seems he has been charged with sexual abuse... Watching the interview... was impressed with one of his disciples.... he said that he would follow his guru... no matter what... even if he was a murderer... ... that was the key... total surrender to your Guru no matter what..

Well have a nice week...

A random Maktub Article I came across... thought it was pretty profound...

The disciple approached his master: "For years I have been seeking ilumination," he said. "I feel that I am close to achieving it. I need to know what the next step is." "How do you support yourself ?" the master asked. "I haven't yet learned how to support myself, my parents help me out. But is only a detail." "Your next step is to look directly at the sun for half a minute," said the master. And the disciple obeyed. When the half-minute was over, the master asked him to describe the field that surrounded them. "I can't see it. The sun has affected my vision," the disciple said. "A man who seeks only the light, while shirking his responsabilities, will never find illumination. And one who keep his eyes fixed upon the sun ends up blind," was the master's comment.

Wishes need not be pigs that can fly

Thats because I got one small but important wish of mine fulfilled and that too just when I needed it... goes a lot to say for wishing ... it need not be something you will not get ... he ha haa !! Chirping up my mornings !! I have built this survival relationship with this sparrow who comes to me kitchen window everyday... I give him rice... and he gives me company... he fluffs up this chest of his... trying to show me who the boss is and chirps and moves here and there while I am busy in the kitchen ... when he is hungry he makes it a point to chirp a little louder in a consistent voice to go somewhere else so that he can sit on the sill and have his fill and feed his wife too... Getting up and being greeted by a chirp here and a chirp there is something I am getting used too... music to my ears... he has his space and I have mine and we are happy campers... he eh!! A wonderful way of building communication... I think I shall try keeping goldfish ... will be nice eh ?? Though I am not a very fishy person.. I think it will be nice... Scary experience !!! Sitting in an auto in a white skirt... the auto racing with another loud auto... through the pouring rain and slush... my heart was in my mouth and my brains in my knees... scared.... of nothing but my white skirt which would take some serious lashing of the slush water .. how could I convince the Auto driver to save my white skirt... here I was gnashing me teeth and trying to admire the rain... trying to ignore the fact that one little mistake from the auto and we are having a sharp skid problem... but the race was on and I was right in the middle of it... and we managed... to lose.. keep my white skirt white... because of traffic... and I was never more glad to see my office... hallelujah !! Late realisation: Speed does not thrill me !!! Pet Peeve : Screeching motion sensitive cars... who screech in the most annoying manner if you as much go near them... I understand its security system... but heck how will you know if you are away from the hearing range and the car screeches its protest anyway... and anyway gets mauled... SIGH... !!! the screeching car in my apt is again up to its screeching tactics... everytime the security comes to wash the car.. at 5:00 it goes a shrill beep beep beep beep ... thus awakening me from my slumber and just when I thought that the car had learnt to recognize its cleaners... SIGH.. I think its better to keep dogs.. at least it knows when to bark...

War and then Peace

As I said war was on... And oh !! it was not my wall sharing neighbor as I had suspected... my adversary was someone on the floor below whose bedroom faced our bedroom.... So thank god I can stick around to listening the same Country music CD again and again.. without spoiling the friendship that we have... hahaha !! . that is much better than Chamiya music... he hah ahaha !! So after I reached home in the evening... this fella had opened all doors and windows... and blasting some nice music... it was almost 10 in the night and he was playing... Pani pani re... Pretty nice song .. mind you... but I had war on my mind... So Rocks and me went ahead and put on some hard hitting trance full blast... buhahahahah !! Boom boom it went... and there Lata was crooning Paaaani paaani bbooom re.. Pani boom Pani boom re ..... (I know exactly how irritating it can get when listening to slow music) he put it loud so I went and screwed the volume up too... Now how can Pani pani survive with hard hitting (and irritating booms for a slow music lover) trance.... it went on and on till 11 in the night... he got angry and out on Bole tarrarara from Daler Mehendi... hahah !!! My trance continued in the monotonous banging... the Volume in the flat went slow to low to silence after much competition... and today morning I could get up early without any loud chamiya music... he hahahahah !!! I was all prepared to put some Megadeath and Ironmaiden if that bugger as much as touched his volume level.... but silence and muted music ... which is very pleasant...life is back to normal... SIGH and all things came to a logical end .... I have made my point.. I rest my case.....

Neighbour's JINGLES my FRIGHT

I have this perfectly nice neighbors who till now have been quite decent fellas. We get along well with them too... and all was well until tehy shifted their music system to their bedroom I happen to love music and keep swinging to any rhythm... I have kept silent enjoying the music when they played it.... Then the frequency and the volume increased.. I still kept swinging to it... Then the timings changed... these guys played music right into the night... I slept with it... no problems... They have been playing the same CD again and again for a week... did not mind it since it had my favorite numbers. When I was almost getting sick of the numbers I actually loved listening to them night and day... they switched on to Hindi stuff... EGAD !!!! today I wake up at 6:15 with Meenaxi songs.... Chikamma song jangling my nerves and I hate getting my sleep disturbed with something chamiya.... thus resulting in a pissed off feeling ... lasting me through the day.....dont people understand that morning is for Jazz or Instrumental... or whatever,... heck keep the volume LOW.... Thats it.... THIS IS IT... THIS IS WAR..... Where has common sense gone.... YEGAAAHHHHH !!! So I blasted my Worldspace with Worldzone screaming African hulabalooo !!! HULA HULA ...AAAAOOOOOOUUUUUU.............YEHAAAAHAHAHAH !!! and then METAL... BUHAHAHAHAHA !! (I did all this when Rocks was busy cleaning the car.. ) And they have not seen the last of me... GRRRRRR Music is my soul but there are times when one should blast songs or places.. I think ... I love blasting music too... in my teenage days I used to make my wooden room in Shillong shake with bass effects and rock music... but then everyone in the neighborhood was into rock and blasting and we had our times... Now after a hectic day at work one like to listen to some nice music and yeah blast some good music at a decent time of the day or evening when there is lot of activity happening outside.. and the extra sound gets absorbed after giving pleasure to the hearing senses... not sometime when people like me who like their morning sleep to be sound... and not so close to the ear.. SHEESHHH !!!! It is not enough that we have to deal with a screeching car early morning everytime one gets near it.. that has stopped .. now I have to deal with neighbors who are good friends but have a bad sense of music and timing !!!! (I wish I could do a Catwoman... on this... buhahahah ) PS: Seen at the back of a car.. Dirty Hari... hahahaha LOLOLOLOL LMAO.. ok my silly bone got tickled...

A Garfield of a weekend

As scheduled I slept like a log and ate like a hog... and watched movies ... Hindi movies and one silly english movie.... Friday being only my off day... i decided to just laze around...Rocks my man is not a fan of Hindi movies so this day I got the opportunity to watch all the chamiya ishtyle movies... he hehe Started with Phir Milenge.... Nothing Chamiya about it .... Liked the way the movie was handled... though I thought in the beginning that this would be another copy from an English movie "Philedelphia" but though the theme was the same the story was handled very maturely and very much the Indian way. Its sad that we do not have any laws protecting a HIV positive patient... who can lead a normal life.. This movie wakes us up to an issue which is very much a reality. A socially educating movie... a must watch. Salman and Shilpa have done pretty ok.. Salman could have done better.. but I guess it was enough... Revathy has done a good job. Most of the shots being shot in Bangalore... made it cool to watch... heheh !! Previously we would just hear "I am going to Bangalore" in dialouges of Hindi movies.. and now the story has been picturised in Bangalore... After Mitr I think this is one of her good efforts... Direction wise... could have been better.. but the story was so strong and captivating.. that one can ignore the bloopers... Frankly I prefer movies that make sense and put forwards a message instead of song and dance.... this medium can do a lot to educate the masses... ( thanks for the correction Stone) And then Fida came around... Total mixture of Daar, Murder, Jism, Anjaam, you name it... you have got it ... Forgive me fans of Fida but except for the song Nazar Nazar where Shahid Khan does a good job of dancing around... the rest of the movie kept me having deja vu of seen that been there... kind of feeling... Blooper ... hero gets badly beaten thrown from top .. yet he survives..to fight back... hero gets shot in the chest... and falls into the river.. yet he survives... Villain a total ...funny character who enters in as fast as he exits out.. the villain character was not needed at all... Shahid should seriously try and stick to chocolate boy roles.. he cannot get away with a la KKKKKKi Disjointed scenes.. no link.. no story... if you are a hindi movie buff... you will know exactly which scene has been taken from which movie.... good cast, some good music, ok cinematography, but stupid movie... waste of time... So that Rocks does not feel left out we watched Alient vs Predator. This is another laughable movie I have seen.. after watching Alien and Predator... seperately... this seems to be a spoof on each... half the movie, the Alien is shown with shaky lips grrrrrring away... dribbling saliva ( YUCK) and the other half Predator is busy...killing humans and aliens and then getting killed and then befriending the only human living... guess what a woman... hehahahahah !!! God save me !!! I think the director and the story writer got confused as to how to construct the story... LOL another example of mixture of other stories into one story.... Kyon Ho Gaya Na... Bass ho gaya na ??? ( Enigma thanks for the correction) This film is a sad attempt at tickling oneself and making oneself laugh... the only attraction are the song and dance rouitines... which is pretty catchy... that is all I have to say... Vivek Oberoi should seriously try and get a ground... in the industry... he is pathetic... Amitabh who has done great comedy movies.. is sad... Aishwairaya rai... ahem.. I guess.... she did what she is mostly best at... looking and dancing good... SIGH !!! Went to the theatres to catch Catwoman...Ok this is by far the most entertaining movie of my weekend... After Spiderman 2 , this was decent... some stuff could have been improved.. like the fight scenes could have been slower.. it was too fast for the naked eye to see... story is fantasy... and just like comic books it was ok ... you see it you forget it... so I guess if you are in a silly mood to just chill out this would be an okay movie...

Jumping the gun !!!

Jumping the Gun ?? A classic case of corporate feminist ... LOLOLOL Food for thought ???? And this is my way of saying prevention better than cure... Stray thoughts:
  • I smell samosa... gotta have them....
  • Its going to pour but I am prepared today... unlike yesterday... yehawwww !!
  • I just saw the most beautiful mating ritual from my 6th floor office balcony... two male pigeons trying to attract a beautiful black pigeon... going round and round circles in the same place.. one was playing hard to get.... one was dying hard to get... the playing hard to get obviously flew off with the prize... fact of life.. again emphasized....
  • A lady carrying on a 5 minute conversation, crushing one hand at the back pocket of her jeans,.... a new means to say that the conversation was interesting ??? DUH ...
  • API docs are painful part of technical writing profession... I need a break....
  • Office romance making the grape vine buzz.... ah the thrill of gossip and speculation... the essence of womanhood...

PS: New photos added from my recent visit to Bylekuppe, Coorg.

September Song

September Song When I was a young man courting the girls I played me a waiting game. If a maid refused me with tossing curls Id let the old earth take a couple of twirls And Id ply her with tears instead of pearls And as time came around, she came my way As time came around, she came But its a long, long while from may to december And the days grow short when you reach september. The autumn weather turns the leaves to flame And I havent got the time for the waiting game. Oh, the days dwindle down to precious few; September, november. And these few precious days Ill spend with you. These precious days Ill spend with you. I love this time of the month... having had a great trip to and back from Hampi.. am wondering at how September changes one's perspective.. towards nature.... Will be back with write up and photos as soon as I can... meanwhile.... FRIDAY IS A HOLIDAY .... after such a long time we got an official holiday.. I am thrilled... So what if I know that the day will pass by fast as a zipping train... still it feels good to have a holiday... Parting thought : if you are in a travelling mode... do visit Hampi this month... the highway lanscape which is a dry land giving the impression of nothingness, is filled with greenery .... its a sight for sore eyes.... More details coming up soon !!!!!!

Ever missed what you really dont want ??

Yesterday was a cranky day.... Reason : the company aquaguard was not functioning... I was getting thirstier and thirstier... had to go to fourth floor everytime I had to fill a bottle... others seem to be fine... I seemed to be the only one who drank few bottles of water during the day... Water is taken so much for granted ... yesterday I was wondering what would happen if we had to buy water like in the US or in Russia... yeah probably... would resort to Indian version of Vodka... I was missing my old offices where water and coffee were the least things we had to worry about and well it pays to work for a bigger organization in that way... Heck one does not always get what one want ?? Then came coffee ... time... Usually I am tea person.. specially red tea without sugar.. good for health you see.... ... Here the admin was trying their level best to get a good coffee machine for us and that particular moment I had this urge to have COFFEE of all things... why.. god knows... blame it on forbidden fruit pschycology I guess...... As they say my javalicious craving was making me go bonkers and all for what.. just because the pschye knew that it would not be available... HUH ... Or was it because I was feeding my sadistic side by craving for something that I did not really want but wanted it anyways.... ( go figure that out) But hallelujah !!! my day was saved... there was this awesome machine which got installed... which provided.. TEA, COFFEE, HOT WATER ( which is the only thing I need), LEMON TEA and and and you will never guess ... TOMATO SOUP... ( Of all things ) just at the press of a button... pretty neat I must say. I just hope that the button will last us.. long... ... As soon as I saw the machine... my monkey of a brain stopped trying to figure things out and settled down... See what visual stimulation does for the brain... ... And life came back to normal again ... with me happily banging on the keyboard... sometimes the silliest of the things can get to me.. is it because I am woman or is it because I am human... But I still have to run for water... oh well it will be good for me I guess... At least I got Coffee which I dont really drink LOL.... Pet Peeve Cars with HIGH BEAM lights... sometimes I have seen the drivers not knowing the difference between high beam and dipper.... when asked to some... one replies that that person puts it on since he has to compete with trucks... DUH.. next one on the road does not know the difference unless I literally put it in his eyes.. then he shoves his hand at me... or gives me an ugly look... DUH.. TIT for TAT.. I guess.. you go HIGH I also go HIGH.... GRRRRRR and then he has the gumption to go BIG EYES at me... GRRRRR !!! Many respect the fact that dippers are helpful in night driving... but some really dont seem to bother.. or dont know that they are driving with high beam.... Wait till I get them fog lamps... The warrior is getting bedecked now... buhahahahahah !!! Poignant Moment As I am waiting in the Jeep for Rocks to get something... I see this Thella walla.. who sells Bhelpuri... an old man... meticulously cutting thin slices of a tomato... he is not fast but he is perfect... then he arranges the tomatoes in a plate.. decorating them as if it was an art... It sure was... then he places the plate ... and waits... with a tired expression in his face... tired yet expectant... it is a crowded street where people dont have the time to stop.. yet he is hopeful... another slice of Life... passing by my eyes... A note of thanks: DUDE Vighy... thanks for the help.. you are a gem !!!
